FaceBook to offer email

Facebook is completely rewriting their messaging product and is preparing to launch a fully featured webmail product in its place, according to a source with knowledge of the product. Internally it’s known as Project Titan. Or, unofficially and perhaps over-enthusiastically, the Gmail killer.

The latest in Church music live from Florida – Bono and the U2charist!

Lots of fans revere their favorite artists like attending a religious experience. To add to the confusion already out there one church in northern Florida – Pensacola has added a new twist to the Sunday morning service. Come and join the “U2charist” Twenty Four Bit reported on the First United Church of Pensacola playing the music and lyrics of Bono and U2. The pinnacle of the Holy Roller club.

Pensacola News Journal’s Rebecca Ross reports the U2charist will include “Where the Streets Have No Name,” “With or Without You,” “One,” and “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.” Also, “Beautiful Day” is slated to be the opening number for each worship service.

U2’s music is so deeply spiritual that I think the corporate worship setting is the perfect place for it,” Rev. Geoffrey Lentz told the PNJ, adding later, “It’s exciting for the oldest Protestant church in Pensacola to have a cutting edge worship service.”

Obviously this new ultra modern service is aimed at a younger audience although there are a number of older rockers I know who wouldn’t mind a bit of U2 in their service now and then!

Churches who hold the U2charist do not have to pay licensing fees for using U2’s music on the condition that the church donates any money raised by the service to charities benefiting the Millennium Development Goals, to which Bono is an ambassador.

Inside the Social Media Ocean

Social Media Ocean?
A number of companies are beginning to “step into the water” so to speak of the social media ocean. However this is not something that you do as a hobby for your business. Social media needs regular updates as you begin to attract and maintain that loyal group of followers. You should develop Social Media strategies into everything you plan, from launch of a product, customer service, updates, in fact as many channels as possible.

Communication
However one of the important things to remember is that Social Media is all about communication. People are interested in what you are doing and planning just as much as what you are selling. Provide interesting content that keeps people informed, updated as well as providing opportunity for followers to spread the news globally from their social platforms.

Give content away
The easier that your content is found the easier it will be distributed by your followers! One way to provide easy to follow media is on youtube and any other media sites where you can provide video updates. One advantage of youtube is that they already provide the source code for others to embed your video on to blogs, other sites, im’s etc. Another aspect of distribution is making it free! You want to let people come and take the code to embed it in their site – we want people to hear and see what you are doing. Last year David Meerman Scott new book World Wide Rave spoke about the importance of being able to freely give away information, white paper, video for the purpose of letting your social media go global.
This year on March 30th 2009 Adam Wallace with David Meerman Scott was part of the opening bell ceremony at the Nasdaq. It is the first ever “Tweet-Up” to open the stock market with 30 guests tweeting the opening.

The next Generation
Today’s youth are already into digital media, gaming, video, iPhone and Blackberry apps, they look for the usual coffee houses know where all the local free areas are beside the usual Panera Bread stores! They are intense uses of the internet from IM, blogs and twitter to making video replies to youtube videos. This is the next audience.

Ever wanted to know where the Google Help Pages are?

Did you ever want to get a help file for Gmail, Google Docs or for Google Desktop so you can print it or save it on your computer? All Google services have help centers that include information about features, tutorials, troubleshooting guides, but you need to find the information in a complicated hierarchy of topics or use the search box.

Fortunately, there’s a way to save all the information related to a Google service: append ?fulldump=1 to the address of a Google help center. This doesn’t work for all Google services, but here’s a list of addresses that dump all the information from a help center (note that the pages are very large and are frequently updated):

How do I get more Leads from the Web?

Generating more leads from the internet.

One of the most frequently asked questions, when talking to people about website development is, “How do we utilize the web to generate more leads?”

The second question is “How to get more qualified visitors that will buy from our website?”

Obviously there is SEO, using blogs in business, blogs to keep visitors uptodate with new products, launches, offers, etc., online press release designed  for SEO marketing, online business networking, pay per click, social media marketing.

Most sites generally only offer one opportunity to capture leads and that is their “contact form”, and it usually ask for the world. They should put a space in their asking when you think that you will be ready to buy – oh wait there already  is that space! its called are you looking to purchase in one month, three months or 6 months…..

No matter how good, detailed or pretty the contact form is, people do not want to give out information to get sold to.

A better way to attract leads is to offer white papers, with free information on your business/industry, produce an e-book relative to what your company produces, markets, share ideas, via a landing page, or opt in mail, have a distinctive call to action – where there is a benefit to the user.

Have a variety of ways that the user is encouraged to give their details and contact information to you.
